Environmental/Toxic Torts Law

Greve, Clifford represents clients on a variety of environmental concerns, including litigation in the developing area of toxic torts and regulation, and issues relating to radiation and other toxic exposures. In that connection, we represent clients in both real estate matters and litigation arising out of the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Price-Anderson Act.

The law firm has an extensive background in handling litigations involving contaminations of and exposure to asbestos, petrochemicals, methyl ethyl ketone, methylene chloride, 1,1,1 trichloroethane, MOCA, and other industrial chemicals as well as ground and drinking water contaminations involving lead, chromium, mercury, copper and arsenic. Representative environmental law litigations involve underground storage tank contaminations, workplace and residential contaminations of toxic construction materials, as well as soil and ground water contamination by hazardous materials used in manufacturing processes.

Capabilities and Experience:

The members of the Greve, Clifford environmental law team have diverse and extensive litigation experience involving the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation Liability Act (CERCLA) (42 U.S.C ยง 9601, et seq.) and related state and federal environmental laws, water pollution control, environmental impact reports, toxic torts, toxic and hazardous substance regulation, waste management, air and water quality regulation and radiation contamination.

The team is experienced in handling toxic tort litigations on behalf of landowners, property owners and manufacturers, distributors and end users of products subject to hazardous substance regulation, including asbestos, lead, and similar latent hazardous materials subject to federal and state regulation. The firm has acted as national coordinating counsel on behalf of manufacturers of products containing asbestos, lead and other materials, and is conversant both with the medical aspects of exposure to such contaminants and the remediation of properties incorporating use of such materials.
